TEAM5poker’s ‘Johnny Rags’ Cashes for ~ $1,938 at the Wynn Summer Classic held at the Encore Casino in Las Vegas, NV and caps an eventful 3-weeks of play during the 2017 WSOP footprint (July 2017)

TEAM5poker’s ‘Johnny Rags‘ Cashes for ~ $1,938 at the Wynn Summer Classic held at the Encore Casino in Las Vegas, NV and caps an eventful 3-weeks of play during the 2017 WSOP footprint (July 2017)

TEAM5poker‘s ‘Johnny Rags‘ plays multiple events at the 2017 World Series of Poker (WSOP) and Wynn Classic (held at the Encore Casino next door to the Wynn); and put together a very profitable 3-weeks-of-play.

SANTA FE STATION:

After running his ACES into a turned set-of-tens 3.5-hours into DAY1, ‘Rags’ was knocked out of the Super Senior Bracelet Event at this years 2017 WSOP. He later cashed at a daily deepstack and took down two $125 single-table satellites for $1,100 each (plus the $200 last longer for each).

To cap-off the week, ‘Rags‘ stopped by the Santa Fe Station Casino off the 95N in Las Vegas, NV for a night of cash play.

Spade Royal Flush on the River

Johnny Rags‘ was locked-up in a hand with a gentleman in middle position and as you can see from the picture of the layout above, the gentleman flopped a set-of-queens. ‘Rags’ on the other-hand, flopped an up-and-down straight draw, a back-door flush draw and a back-door Royal Flush Draw. Both players got a huge piece of the flop and action/fireworks were sure to follow.

The turn came with another ten (the ten of spades). This gave ‘Rags‘ opponent in middle position a full-house (full boat) and ‘Rags‘ now had additional outs. He now had an open-ended straight flush draw and a Royal Flush draw.

The betting was moderate, as apparently the opponent in middle-position was ‘slow playing his hand‘ while trying to extract as much money from ‘Rags‘ as possible without at-the-same-time chasing ‘Rags’ out-of-the-hand. The player in middle position thought that he had ‘Rags‘ exactly where he wanted him and was very comfortable letting ‘Rags‘ hang-around. He was also convinced that he had a ‘hammer-lock’ on the hand and essentially ‘could not lose‘. Each player had approximately $175 in the pot after the turn card hit the felt.

The river came with the ace-of-spades completing the Spade Royal Flush for ‘Rags.’

Each player had approximately $495 behind (‘Rags‘ had the player in middle position out-chipped/covered by about $5); and after contemplating his action for a reasonable-amount-of-time, ‘Rags‘ announced ‘ALL-IN‘ and pushed his remaining chips into the pot. This ‘ALL-IN‘ declaration evoked an immediate snap-call from the player in middle-position.

THE RESULT: ‘Rags‘ dragged a pot just over $1,400 and capped that with the standard ‘Royal Flush Bonus‘ at the Stations for a $250 bonus.

TOTAL WON ON THAT HAND: $1,650.

Had one of the hearts on the board instead been another QUEEN, it would have been four/quad queens beaten and the Bad Beat Jackpot was just over $165,950 at that moment in time. The BBJ would have been dispersed 50% to the loser-of-the-hand; 30% to the winner-of-the-hand and the remaining 20% would have been divided between all active players seated at tables at all games in the poker rooms at all of the participating Station Casinos.

Loser of the hand: $84,475

Winner of the hand: $50,955

Remainder distributed to all Station Casinos active poker players: $13,190

THE WYNN SUMMER CLASSIC (HELD AT THE ENCORE HOTEL & CASINO):

Rags,‘ better known as ‘Rick D. Lucas‘ capped his 3-weeks of play with entry into the Wynn Summer Classic $10,000 guarantee event held July 12, 2017. ‘Rags’ outlasted 310 players to finish in a respectable 17th place taking home $1,938 from the $500 +$50 entry $10,000 guarantee event.

2017-07-12 18.31.14 2017-07-12 11.42.11 2017-07-12 21.32.59 2017-07-12 11.41.13

All things considered, this years 2017 WSOP; cash play at Santa Fe Station and the Wynn Summer Classic were fun and eventful undertakings for TEAM5poker and ‘Johnny Rags.’

TEAM5poker’s ‘Johnny Rags’ & ‘PokerFit’ Score Deep Runs in the 2016 WSOP Collussus II & Online NLH Event #66′ (June/July 2016)

TEAM5poker’s ‘Johnny Rags‘ & ‘PokerFit‘ Score Deep Runs in the 2016 WSOP Collussus II & Online NLH Event #66′ (June/July 2016)

TEAM5poker scored deep runs in two major events at this years 47th Annual – 2016 WSOP.

Event #2: $565 Colossus II No-Limit Hold’em – June 2nd, 2016

TEAM5poker‘s ‘Johnny Rags‘ took it deep on June 2nd & 3rd of 2016 in Event #2 the Collussus II taking down $6,015 and placing 138th out-of-a-field of 21,613 players. The prize pool was $10,806,500 with $1M to the first-place winner. After surviving day one of the final flight, ‘Rags‘ went on an incredible run at the start of DAY 2. ‘Rag’s‘ run continued until a table change caused his cards to ‘dry-up‘ at near the end of DAY 2. The Collussus II had a record-breaking field of 21,613 [more than three times (3x) the largest Main Event field and the 2nd largest in the history of the Collussus] (Truth be told, the 2nd largest poker tournament of all time). ‘Rags,‘ better known as ‘Rick D. Lucas‘ outlasted 21,475 of them, many of whom were pros.

Event #66: $1,000 WSOP.com ONLINE No-Limit Hold’em – July 8th, 2016

TEAM5poker‘s ‘PokerFit‘ made a fantastic deep-run in the WSOP.com NLH ONLINE event held on on July 8th, 2016. Showcasing a $1,184,650 Prize Pool and 1,247 entries, this event was a joy to watch online. ‘PokerFit‘ placed 31st taking home $3,909 after outlasting 1,216 players. Short-stacked for most of the Event, ‘PokerFit‘ scrapped and clawed his way by employing well-timed aggression and incredible patience. Always coming up with a hand when he needed it most and ‘picking his spots‘ like a true champion, ‘PokerFit‘ made a very impressive showing. 1st-Place paid $210,279.
